Equipment
Some folks are interested in the equipment used to take the photographs. I use Nikon cameras. Starting with the D300, then the D700 and a Coolpix S9500. I found an eye-fi card in the Coolpix very useful. I have several Nikon lenses, most often the AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm and the AF-S Nikkor 70-300 mm are used with the D700 (backed up with an additional battery pack). The D300 is matched with a AF-S Nikkor 18-200mm. There are other lenses but I favor these. All the cameras transfer photos to my cell phone and notebook, making saving the photos in the field easy.

New book photo location
Joshua Tree National Park is located in southeastern California. Declared a U.S. National Park in 1994 when the U.S. Congress passed the California Desert Protection Act, it had previously been a U.S. National Monument since 1936.
